Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 (February 27, 2010 Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on that part of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word generally believe that it's an distinct island that lies west of Montreal but in fact it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to everything from Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. It is often cited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her stay there was short. Brugel was raised in Courtice in the town of Oshawa. Her early ambition was to be a professional dancer. However, the growth rate of her body meant she outgrew the dancers she was with. In an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. After I outgrew my male partners I stopped. Some former dancers switch to acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a suggestion by the drama instructor at her high school who encouraged her to go to take the next step. It was her teacher who suggested she audition for the role of Anne in the school's annual production. She auditioned to play the character of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she took classes in theatre and was awarded an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. In the 20+ years that followed, Brugel has landed roles in more than 60 productions across the small and big screens receiving the most media attention, when she landed the character of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel is the only Canadian actress in the season 1 which was only seen at times.
